Ascension Life Community Development Corporation serving families, veterans, youth, and seniors

A comprehensive community development ecosystem

Transformation that equips—not merely assists.

Ascension Life Community Development Corporation is a faith-inspired nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives by addressing the root causes of poverty, housing instability, unemployment, financial insecurity, and limited access to opportunity.

Founded by Dr. Charles Woolfork, ALCDC integrates housing, workforce development, entrepreneurship, financial education, community resource navigation, health initiatives, youth and family services, and strategic partnerships into one coordinated model of support.

We believe sustainable community transformation happens when individuals are equipped to build lasting independence, restore dignity, and create generational success.

Our work begins locally—with the people, families, veterans, seniors, entrepreneurs, and neighborhoods that make this community home.

Our Mission

Empower individuals and families.

To empower individuals and families through housing stability, entrepreneurship, workforce development, financial wellness, and faith-inspired community support. We coordinate practical resources with education and opportunity so that people can move beyond crisis, strengthen their families, and pursue lasting independence.

  • Address immediate barriers with dignity and compassion
  • Equip people with practical knowledge and marketable skills
  • Create pathways to employment, enterprise, and ownership
Our Vision

Move people from crisis to ownership.

We envision stronger communities where stable housing, quality education, meaningful employment, enterprise, and leadership create lasting opportunity. Our vision is not measured only by how many people receive assistance, but by how many gain the stability and capacity to lead, own, serve, and invest in the next generation.

  • Families progressing from instability to security
  • Veterans restored to purpose, opportunity, and ownership
  • Residents becoming entrepreneurs and community leaders

Serving people with God’s love

Meeting people where they are. Building toward where they can go.

Resource navigation is the beginning—not the destination. ALCDC is designed to connect compassionate service with the education, employment, financial capability, and relationships that make long-term progress possible.

The Ascension Pathway™

A measurable journey toward independence and leadership.

Every initiative aligns with a unified framework that addresses immediate needs while creating a clear pathway to economic mobility, ownership, and community impact.

01

Stabilize

We begin with the immediate conditions that can keep a person or family in crisis. Participants are connected with coordinated support that creates the breathing room needed to plan a sustainable next step.

  • Housing and food-security navigation
  • Transportation and healthcare referrals
  • Veterans’ benefits and community advocacy
02

Educate

Knowledge turns short-term assistance into lasting progress. Practical instruction helps participants understand the systems, choices, and skills connected to financial stability, employment, enterprise, and ownership.

  • Financial literacy and life skills
  • Homeownership and credit education
  • Workforce, entrepreneurship, and leadership training
03

Employ

We help individuals translate their experience and training into income-producing opportunity. Preparation is connected to employer relationships and credentials that improve long-term employability.

  • Career coaching and individualized planning
  • Résumé, interview, and workplace preparation
  • Certifications, employer partnerships, and placement support
04

Empower

Participants build the tools, confidence, and relationships needed to make informed decisions and increase economic mobility. The focus shifts from receiving help to directing a sustainable future.

  • Financial independence and savings habits
  • Entrepreneurship and small-business readiness
  • Mentorship, accountability, and personal development
05

Own & Lead

The pathway culminates in ownership, influence, and the ability to help others advance. Success becomes generational when participants become homeowners, business owners, mentors, and community leaders.

  • Home and business ownership
  • Civic engagement and volunteer leadership
  • Mentorship that multiplies community impact

Our Long-Term Vision

Dr. Charles Woolfork Sr., Founder and CEO of Ascension Life Community Development Corporation
“I know that we are determined to see families and individuals succeed. If it has to be on the sweat equity of our collective brow or by the tenacity of individuals who are invested in this life-changing venture, then I believe with everything in me that we can be conduits of change, growth and elevation for our community and the people who live in and around it! I am looking forward to intentionally helping someone become more than they ever imagined they could be, and to help others turn their lives around to the point where they are literally stunned by their OWN transformations. This is our collective and individual call, and we wholly, absolutely accept it.”
